My Surrealist Dreamscape

Updated: Oct 22, 2019

This was a Photoshop assignment. We had to create a surreal place that we would see in our dreams. Our goal was to mask and blend atleast 25 pictures together, I did about 50. My inspiration came from my favorite childhood Disney movies. Alice in Wonderland, Snow White, Cinderella.. This is one of my favorites!

My inspiration came from all of my favorite childhood movies; Alice in Wonderland, Cinderella, Snow White, Beauty and the Beast. For my dreamscape I wanted it to show a dreamlike place. For me, falling down a rabbit hole to an unknown place, taking the stairs to this tiny secret door, a magic mirror, a teacup, a stopwatch, a genie lamp.. all items that make you wonder where you are, where you are going.

I chose a black and white color scheme because in the beginning of Wizard of Oz, everything is black and white and when she opens the door after the tornado, everything is in color. I wanted that sense of mystery in my dreamscape. That you wonder if everything will be colorful on the other side of the door.
