The 4th Street Fenelon Place Elevator

Updated: Sep 8, 2019

The Fenelon Place elevator is described as the world’s shortest, steepest scenic railway, 296 feet in length, elevating passengers 189 feet from Fourth Street to Fenelon Place. The Fenelon Place Elevator is a 3 ft narrow gauge funicular railway located in Dubuque, Iowa. Where you will see a magnificent view of the historic Dubuque business district, the Mississippi River and three states.

For Photography Class, we had a day where we all met at the Art Museum. We met with a local photographer, Ron Tigges, owner of #DigitalDubuque. He gave us some tips and tricks when it came to photography.

After that we went on a downtown photo shoot as a class. We walked down to the #FourthStreetElevator. We rode it up to the top, to Fenelon Place and observed the view.

I really enjoyed how much you could see from the top of the #FenelonPlaceElevator. You can see the entire downtown area of #Dubuque as well as the #MississippiRiver. You can see the courthouse, the #DiamondJoCasino, many buildings and churches. I also took this really beautiful picture of the American Flag while we were there.

Here are a few of the other photos I took while we were on our walk.
